Glass-Ceramic Hotplates
The extraordinary glass-ceramic material made by Schott withstands even the most extreme conditions. It is highly break-proof, resistant to temperature changes, free of distortion and pores, easy to clean, absolutely flat and highly acid-resistant. Even extreme applications, such as the evaporation of acids, are possible with this.
Construction (exception: express hotplate)
The whole surface of the low-mass glass-ceramic plate is electrically heated. It is embedded in a stainless steel frame and mounted on an internally insulated stainless steel housing. The temperature is controlled by an electronic NiCr-Ni temperature controller (control range 50...500°C), which is built into a pressure-cast alumium housing (IP65). The temperature pre-selection 50...500°C is made directly via a °C temperature scale. The heating time to maximum temperature is approx. 8 minutes. The special heating system is designed to achieve an even temperature distribution over the entire heating surface. The hotplates are manufactured in different sizes and types: As a benchtop unit with attached control (type A), a benchtop unit with seperate control (type SR), and as a built-in hotplate with separate panel-mounted controller (type EB-C).
